Current Skills and Audit

At the beginning of the academic year, I analysed my current skills that would match the industry sector I was interested in. These skills were:

  • Composition
  • DAW knowledge
  • Stage Persona
  • Computer Skills
  • Marketing
  • Website Administration

And, also, I have analysed my behavioural skills, which I thought were:

  • Problem-Solving
  • Listening
  • Work Under Pressure
  • Working Alone
  • Patience
  • Researching

Then I also rated a more in-depth set of skills which are relevant to the industry, and more behavioural skills:

Therefore, I have created a Gnatt chart that would help me set milestones, while, also, creating goals to improve the skills that I felt I was lacking.

Due to the circumstances, the calendar kept changing and I had to adapt to the unfolding events. Nonetheless, having a printed version of my skill audit helped me stay focused on what to do during moments that could not be allocated to work experience.

I aimed to gain growth in the following skills:

  • Music Industry Understanding
  • Royalties Knowledge
  • Time-keeping
  • Teamworking

Apart from the royalties knowledge, I feel like I have drastically improved my set of skills when it comes to time-keeping, teamworking and music industry understanding. Regarding the latter, this was particularly true when it comes to gigs-booking.
